The institute provides comprehensive graduate programmes presenting doctoral degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The Institute has 17 academic departments along with 13 multi-disciplinary centres and 3 schools of excellence.
For the last five years, 75 percent of the Top 100 rank holders of JEE Advanced examination have been preferring IIT Bombay for admission. IIT Bombay also organizes the largest college festival.
IIT BHU was established in the year 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College. However, it was classified as the Indian Institute of Technology in the year 2012. The institute has 14 academic departments and 3 interdisciplinary schools.
NTA will be conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2022 in a few months for the academic session 2022-23. For JEE Main 2022 Candidates must have done class 12 or equivalent in 2020, 2021 or should be appearing in 2022. Candidates should have the following subjects in the qualifying exam –
B.E /B.Tech: Candidates should have cleared the qualifying exam with physics, mathematics, and chemistry/biology/biotechnology/technical vocational subject.
B. Arch: Candidates should have done the qualifying exam with mathematics, physics and chemistry.
B. Plan: Candidates should have passed the qualifying exam with mathematics.
Qualifying exam marks- Candidates must have scored 75% marks in class 12 for admission in NITs/IIITs/GFTIs. For admission in B. Arch / B Planning courses, the required percentage is 50%. This criterion was relaxed from the last two years on account of COVID-19. However, there is no update of any relaxation this year.
For admissions to M.Tech programmes, candidates need to have qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Bachelor degree holders in Engineering and those who are in the final year of such programmes will be able to apply for GATE.
