KVPY Fellowship Exam 2021 

The “Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana” (KVPY) is a program started in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to attract exceptionally motivated students to pursue research career in Basic Science.

KVPY is a national-level scholarship program up to Pre-Ph.D level. It is organized by the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc) Bengaluru annually. Students studying in class 11th, 12th & UG Science courses are eligible to appear for the KVPY exam 2021. They can appear for the KVPY fellowship exam under three streams – SA, SX and SB, respectively.

KVPY Selection Process

The Indian institute of science Bengaluru has announced the KVPY Fellowship 2021 online registrations starts of submission of application form on 12th July 2021. And last date of closing of online application is 25th August 2021. KVPY Aptitude Test 2021 will be held on 7th November 2021. Aspirants can fill the form at kvpy.iisc.ac.in. Candidates can apply through online mode only.

This program aims to assist the students to realize their potential and to ensure that the best scientific talent is groomed for research and development in the country.

Eligibility for KVPY Fellowship 2021:

Candidates who are applying for KVPY 2021 must ensure they fulfil the prescribed eligibility norms of KVPY before applying. Only candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria can register and fill the form till the last date mentioned on the site. Their admission to the Aptitude Test will be purely provisional subject to satisfying of the eligibility conditions. The KVPY Fellowships are given to Indian Nationals only to Study in India. It includes educational conditions for each stream-SA/SX/SB, which candidates must fulfil to avail the fellowship program

Stream Eligibility

Stream SA – Students who enrolled themselves in Class 11th (science subjects) during the academic year 2021-22 must apply for this exam and aspiring to join an undergraduate program in basic science (B.Sc/B.S./B.Stat./B.Maths. /Int.M.Sc./Int.M.S.) during the academic year 2023-24.

Minimum Marks: Students must pass class 10th with Mathematics & Science subjects with a minimum 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD).

Stream SX Qualifying Exam: Students who have taken admission in class 12th (science subjects) during the academic year 2021-22 and aspiring to join an undergraduate program in basic science (B.Sc/B.S./B.Stat./B.Maths./Int.M.Sc./Int.M.S.) during the academic year 2023-24 can apply for this exam.

Minimum Marks: Students must score a minimum 60% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) in Mathematics and Science subjects (PCB) in Class 12th. Candidates also have to obtain at least 75% (65% in case of SC/ST/PwD) in class 10th.

Stream SB Qualifying Exam: Candidates who enrolled in 1st year of the UG programme in Basic Science (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology)- B.Sc/BS/B.Math./B.Stat./MS/Int. M.Sc) can apply for this exam. Minimum Marks: Candidates must score at least 60% (50% in case of SC/ST/PwD category) in 10+2 examination. In the first year of their final exam in B.Sc/BS/B.Math./B.Stat./MS/Int. M.Sc, students must secure 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD)

Incomplete application form will not be accepted so candidates are advised to fill all asked & required details. Candidates must keep following items ready while applying for online registration.

  1. a) All qualification details.
  2. b) Scanned passport size photographs and signature in JPG/JPEG format
  3. c) 10th and 12th marksheets with the size between 50 kb to 500kb.
  4. d) Valid /working email id and mobile number
  5. e) Credit card, debit card or net banking for payments.
